The living room is the heart of our nights at home after busy days at school and work. It is where we all come together. We all know how busy family life can be while the children are small I wanted to honour this time of life in the living room space by considering the needs of everyone in our family unit.
The key pieces, selected for this space are expected to work hard and are therefore versatile and multifunctional, having the ability to adapt to many situations. I sampled from the huge range of stores at the Supa Centa Moore Park to bring this concept to life.

The hero pieces of this space are the Delta 3 Flexible Modular Sofa from King Living with its clever storage, the perfect spot to store extra rugs and cushions, or more importantly hide the clutter that comes with family living such as magazines, books, toys and games. I’ve paired the lounge with one of the fabulous floor rugs also from King Living. The Scalla Leaning Desk and Bookcase in Natural Oak from Freedom with its ability to be moved easily around a space with minimal effort is a clever design. I have featured two units in this space however there is an additional shelf piece that could also be used and makes a great feature for books, decorative pieces and kids doing their homework and it doesn’t take up too much space at all. The versatile side table from Content International Design can be used to store magazines, prop up your laptop, a glass of wine and a cheese board and can also be positioned around the living room as desired.
The incorporation of organic materials and light wood is a trend that is continuing in 2021. The nod to the natural world enhances the space and creates a sense of calmness through their handcrafted feel. Statement pieces were also selected to create points of interest and complement the multifunctional pieces chosen for the space. These included the soft pallete cloud painting available at Contents International Design, the concrete coffee table from Freedom, the natural woven lamp from Lightstyle and the faux plants and floor cushions from one of the newest retailers to Supa Centa Moore Park, James Lane.
